When I saw the topic for this week, I instantly knew what I was going to talk about. This particular item was sent to me from one of my dearest friends. We’ve known each other for many moons, and seen each other through a lot of shit. We’ve shared each other’s joys, sorrows, and everything in between, and we’ve done it across the miles with no regrets.

Wendy, probably my loudest and long-term cheerleader. She’s the reason “Shattered Soul” came to fruition. There was gentle encouragement that turned to not so gentle nudges to make it happen. Wendy gave me the courage to not only write the book, but also to put it out there for the world to see.

It has now been ten years since I lost my youngest son, and this item just brings me a sense of comfort that is hard to describe.

"The Love between a Mother & Son is Forever"

So many parts to the whole…

There are so many different pieces to this necklace, and each is just as important as the other. The outer ring says:

The love between a mother & son is forever.

Wendy understands this bond, being the mother of boys herself. Granted, it really is the love between a mother and her children, but I digress.

The love between a mother and son is forever.

The inner ring is where it really gets personal:

Then hanging from the rings are a small blue stone, which is Zack’s birthstone of December, and an angel wing. Talk about bringing things full circle with one small object.

There isn’t much I can really say about this, in all honesty, the piece speaks for itself. Not only did it come from someone that means the world to me, it encompasses so much meaning.

This necklace I wear at times just to have a physical something when my emotions are on high.

Thank you Wendy, for being you, for loving me, for loving my kids, and for everything I can’t describe.

Challenge

This week, the challenge will be to think about something that someone gave you. Why does it matter to you so much? Is it the person that gave it to you? What it symbolizes? Or is it a little bit of both?

As always, we would love to hear from you. If there is something you’d like to tell us, share with us, or even ask; please feel free to comment below or you can contact us. Own your journey, and we will catch you on the flip side.
